When their name is printed, it is stylised as "KoЯn", as shown above.

They were formed out of Bakersfield, California, during 1993, and were one of the first ever Nu Metal acts. KoЯn were also very influential within NWOAHM.

Their current lineup is;-

  • Founding members Jonathan Davis (vocals, bagpipes)
  • James "Munky" Shaffer (guitar)
  • Brian "Head" Welch (guitar, backing vocals)
  • Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu (bass)
  • Ray Luzier who replaced the band's original drummer, David Silveria. Korn was originally formed by three of the members of the band L.A.P.D.


Sales and Awards

As of 2012;

  • KoЯn had sold around 35 million copies worldwide
  • Twelve of the band's official releases have peaked in the top ten of the Billboard 200, eight of which have peaked in the top five
  • Eight official releases are certified Platinum or Multi-Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and one is certified Gold
  • KoЯn has earned two Grammy Awards out of seven nominations and two MTV Video Music Awards out of eleven nominations.

8) 2004, Greatest Hits Vol. 1, which spanned a decade of singles and concluding the band's recording contract with Immortal Records and Epic Records.

Other Albums

1) Live & Rare is a compilation that came out on May 9, 2006, it features thirteen tracks - all seven from the DVD featuring 2003's CBGB’s show in New York, which are found on special editions of Greatest Hits Vol. 1, two from Woodstock 1999, three cover songs (one a hidden track from Follow the Leader and another a hidden track from Take a Look in the Mirror), and "Proud" taken from the I Know What You Did Last Summer soundtrack.

2) MTV Unplugged: Korn, this was an acoustic live album which was released worldwide on March 5, 2007 and the following day in the USA.

3) Korn Live: The Encounter, this is a live release to promote the studio album Korn III: Remember Who You Are. It premiered on Sunday July 11, 2010 on HDNet, and then streamed on the band's Myspace profile.
