Info

Acid house is a sub genre of House, that makes use of repetitive, hypnotic and Trance like styles, combined with samples or spoken lines and sometimes a sung vocal line.

Acid house’s most notable sound was the "squelch" sounds that were developed by mid-1980s DJs from Chicago, they had been experimenting with the Roland 303 electronic synthesizer-sequencer.

By the late 1980s, many tracks had taken inspiration from acid house and remixes and original tracks gave this genre mainstream attention and found itself influencing many pop and dance styles.
