One of the most influential Rocksteady / Ska artists of all time.

Alton Nehemiah Ellis OD, born 1 September 1938, passed away 10 October 2008, originally from Kingston, Jamaican.

He was a vocalist, who was considered to be one of the innovators of Rocksteady, and was given the informal title "Godfather of Rocksteady".

In 2006, he was inducted into the International Reggae And World Music Awards Hall Of Fame.
