They were an Electronic Body Music/Techno band which formed out of Germany in 1988, they were put together by music producers Andreas Tomalla (aka Talla 2XLC and formerly of the band Moskwa TV) and Markus Nikolai (aka Jallokin).
During the late '80s, Talla and Jallokin formed the band Pluuto under Talla's own Technodrome Records (TDI Records) label. At the time, Talla was also involved in the production of several other projects such as Robotiko Rejekto, Tribantura, and Microchip League.
On to 1988, and this duo put out the single "'Body to Body" under the name Bigod 20 as part of Talla's newly founded Music Research label, which eventually evolved into Zoth Ommog Records.
1990 ticked around, and Bigod 20 signed with Sire Records, through which they released the hit single "The Bog," which grew into a huge dancefloor hit. The single featured a strong Front 242 influence, and the main track even featured guest vocals from Front 242 lead man Jean-Luc De Meyer.
During '91 Talla and Jallokin joined forces with the musician Thomas Franzmann (aka Zip Campisi).
The group's first full-length album, Steel Works! was released by Sire Records in '92. The album included the single "On the Run," which contained the electropop-edged cover of Madonna's "Like a Prayer." A second single, "It's Up To You," followed soon afterward.
When '94 arrived, their second full-length album, Supercute, came out, led by the single "One".
In 1997, Zip and Jallokin (Markus Nikolai) formed and launched Perlon Records.
