Intro and Info

A musical group formed out of Sheffield in the UK.

Their lineup is made up by;-

  • Stephen Mallinder - vocals, bass, keyboards (1973–1994)
  • Richard H. Kirk - guitars, keyboards, tapes (1973–1994, 2014–present)
  • Chris Watson - keyboards, tapes (1973– October 1981)

They were named after a nightclub in Zürich, Switzerland, that was a centre for the early Dada movement.

Cabaret Voltaire's early days performances were influenced by Dada style performance art, but as their career developed, they grew into one of the most highly respected groups who blended Industrial, Electronic Dance Music, Techno, Dub, House and experimental Pop music.
