Drum n Bass

Drum n Bass, (generally shortened to DnB) is a type of Electronic Dance Music that grew out of the mid 1990s.

Drum n Bass is characterised by fast tempo broken beats generally between 160–180 beats per minute, but normally perceived at half tempo, with the most common bpm being 87bpm, there are some occasional differences in some of the more original compositions, then the other notable feature would be the heavy sub basslines.

Drum n Bass has its roots firmly in the UK Rave scene, and has spread all around the world, with a lot of attention in Europe, Russia, and the USA.

Up until the late 1990s/mid 2000s, Drum n Bass remained an underground scene, but as the 2000s progressed, more bands achieved much more commercial success in the Drum n Bass genre, for example, artists such as Pendulum, High Contrast and Chase and Status
