Info and Intro

Futurepop is an electronic dance music genre that incorporates influences from Synthpop, Darkwave, Trance/Techno, fast-paced synthesizer beats, and Electronic Body Music, Industrial (mostly in the harsh vocal style and worldviews presented in their lyrics).

The term was coined by Ronan Harris of VNV Nation and Stephan Groth of Apoptygma Berzerk while attempting to describe the style of music their bands produced, and the genre can be traced back to the eclectic club scenes of the mid 90s, including some of the work done by Dj Rex in London as well as Dj Ian Fford and Rexx Arkana in New York.
