Info and Intro

They're a Psychedelic Rock/Acid Rock band from the USA, best known for the 1968 hit "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida", adding a dramatic feel that had a hand in the development of Hard Rock music.

Growing out of San Diego, California, with band members that were once said to be "arch enemies".

Their most successful time was the late 1960s, but they have had many a reincarnations since then, with various members and varying levels of success, but unfortunately there has been no new material since 1975.

Iron Butterfly's seminal album was the 1968 release "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida", it's among the world's 40 best-selling albums, having sold over 30 million copies.

They're also notable for having been the first ever band to receive an RIAA platinum award.
