Info and Intro

The Prodigy; an Electronic Dance Music group, put together by Liam Howlett.

The current line up is;-
Liam Howlett (keyboardist and composer)
Keith Flint (dancer and vocalist)
Leo Crabtree (drums)
Rob Holliday (lead guitarist)
Maxim Reality (MC and vocalist)
Leeroy Thornhill (dancer and occasional live keyboardist)
Leeroy was a member of the Prodigy from 1990 to 2000, as was a female dancer and vocalist called Sharky who left the group during their early period.


Along with their piers of the time;- the Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, and various other acts, The Prodigy have been cited as leaders of the Big Beat sound, this reputation led them to mainstream popularity in the 1990s and 2000s.

They have sold an impressive amount, over 25 million records on a worldwide scale.

They have won numerous music awards throughout their career, including two Brit Awards, they won -
Best British Dance Act twice.

Five MTV Europe Music Awards
Two nominations for Grammy Awards

Their style takes in a range of styles, going from Rave to Techno to Industrial to Jungle to Breakbeat to Big Beat to Electronic Dance Music to Rock to Punk.

They originally grew out of the UK Underground Rave scene in the early 1990s and have since achieved popularity and worldwide renown.

They have been called "the premiere dance act for the alternative masses," as well as "The Godfathers of Rave."
